Tanzpunkt Hannover strengthens the independent dance scene, connects dance artists with audiences, and advocates for better structural support in the cultural policy landscape. Our mission: to make dance as an art form more visible, accessible to all, and to create professional conditions for dancers.

We offer regular professional training and workshops with both local and international instructors, residencies, networking events, and performance opportunities for dance artists. We see ourselves as a central hub for networking and collaborative creation – bringing together dance artists, cultural institutions, the local community, and policymakers.

Our programs encourage creative exchange and foster sustainable careers. Through residency programs, we support artistic research and development. Interdisciplinary projects and Open Stages bring dance into the public space, making it more visible. Our participatory formats open dance up to everyone – from professionals to emerging artists and even amateurs.

Another key focus for us is the fusion of dance and live music – a creative dialogue that accompanies many of our events.

Since 2024, Tanzpunkt Hannover has been part of the “Tanznetz Niedersachsen” alliance, contributing to a vibrant and interconnected professional dance community together with LaFT (Landesverband Freie Darstellende Künste in Niedersachsen) and TANZKOOP.
We invite dance artists to join this network and are excited to collaborate with partners and supporters who want to bring new ideas to life.

Why become a member?

We aim to represent as many perspectives and needs from the freelance dance community as possible. That’s why it’s important to us to welcome people into our association who want to actively contribute, support our work, and help us further develop our programs and structures. We’re excited to grow together with both professional and emerging dancers — as well as creatives from related fields!
With a membership starting at 3,30€ per month (36,90€/year), both individuals and organizations can join us.
